I was in a hotel restaurant in Naples, Florida, when I saw the baseball-like score of the soccer match between Brazil and Germany — 7-1!

If there were more scores like this mismatch, maybe soccer would get a better viewing audience in the United States.

What I found most perplexing was all the crying. I like sports as well as anybody, but crying because your team lost? I don’t get it.

They’re is no crying in baseball, and there shouldn’t be any crying in soccer.

The Chicago Cubs have a lot to cry about, but they don’t cry.

The Boston Red Sox had a lot to cry about for years, but they didn’t. They toughed it out even when a routine ground ball passed through the legs of first baseman Bill Buckner during the 1986 World Series.

Then there was “Bucky Bleeping Dent” in 1978.

The Curse of Bambino was big with the Sox.
