In the presidential election, Blacks are nearly unanimous voters for Democrats. President Obama got around 95 percent of the Black vote in 2008. Most people don’t expect this to change much in 2012, but there are Black conservatives who are out there to prove me wrong. Consider the Frederick Douglass Republicans. “The Frederick Douglass Republican Methodology or constitutional conservatism is the only philosophy that can save our beloved nation and secure liberty for our children and grandchildren.” Watch this great short video contrasting the views of Douglass with those of Obama:

The homosexual marriage “evolution” of President Obama may have changed some minds among Black voters, but will it be enough to affect the election?

A number of Black groups are trying to make a political difference with their fellow Blacks by trying to show them that Democrat policies have been bad for Black families (75 percent of children born out of wedlock) and Black youth (14 percent unemployment).

The newly formed nonprofit group, God Said, will begin targeting voters in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Florida with television and radio advertising, as well as a grassroots campaign to encourage people to consider the gospel when they enter the voting booth.

“The black community is among the most religious in America and we are offended that President Obama has announced his support of same-sex marriage, that the NAACP has blindly supported the secular views of the Democratic Party, and that their national platform plainly supports same-sex marriage,” said Apostle Claver Kamau-Imani of RagingElephants.org, and a God Said founder, in a statement. “I am confident that this message will be well received and acted upon on Election Day.”

The homosexual marriage issue may be the needed tipping point to unhinge Blacks from the Democrat Party.

“During the 2008 elections, 70 percent of African Americans voted to ban same-sex marriage in California while they also voted for Barack Obama for president,” added Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and black outreach director of the pro-life Priests for Life. “We fully intend to shift 25 percent of the black vote from the 2008 election by charging every voter to examine each candidate and vote for the one that supports their core belief in natural marriage.”

A similar thing happened in North Carolina. Blacks overwhelmingly voted against same-sex marriage. Will the homosexual marriage issue be enough? No one knows. Blacks need to understand that in addition to the moral deficiencies and the anti-God position of the Democrat Party, the party’s economic policies have been a hindrance to Black advancement.
