What if the Oregon Shooter had Targeted Muslims, ‘Gays’ or ‘Transgenders’?

The nation was rightly horrified when Christians in a black church in Charleston, South Carolina, were gunned down. There was so much outrage that anything Confederate was considered to be an affront to civil rights. Flags were removed, names of Confederate Generals were expunged, and some even advocated digging up the bodies of confederate soldiers.

Let’s not forget the Matthew Shepard incident. Shepard “was an American student at the University of Wyoming who was beaten, tortured and left to die . . . . Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson were arrested shortly after the attack and charged with murder following Shepard’s death. Significant media coverage was given to what role Shepard’s sexual orientation played in the killing.”

Homosexuals, Congress, and President Obama got behind hate-crime legislation based on this single incident that turned out to be false. Shepard had not been attacked because he was a homosexual. It didn’t make any difference:

“Shepard’s murder brought national and international attention to hate crime legislation at the state and federal levels. In October 2009, the United States Congress passed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act (commonly the ‘Matthew Shepard Act’ or ‘Shepard/Byrd Act’ for short), and on October 28, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the legislation into law.”

President Obama has not said a word about the Oregon shooter who singled out Christians and shot them in the head. Not a word. Actor James Woods wrote, “tweeted a picture of the president with the comment: ‘Hate crime massacre of Christians finally silences Obama. #LiberalLaryngitis.’”

You can imagine what Obama would have said if Muslims had been lined up and shot:

“Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee observed that President Barack Obama ‘conveniently just ignores it’ when victims of a violent act, such as [the] mass shooting at an Oregon community college, are Christian.

“Multiple witnesses said that the Umpqua Community College shooter targeted Christians, shooting them in the head while shooting non-Christians in the leg.

“In an interview with Newsmax’s Steve Malzberg . . . , Malzberg asked Huckabee, ‘What if the shooter had said, “Are you a Muslim?” And shot those in the head who were Muslim. Do you think the president would have mentioned that?’”

“There was no hesitation from Huckabee

“‘Of course he would,’ he said. ‘The president always wants to be defensive and tell us there is no such thing as Islamic terrorism. These aren’t religious people even though we all know they are. But it seems when the target is a Christian he conveniently just ignores it, denies it or just moves on to something else. I do think that it is incredibly significant that there was a religious intent and motive in this shooter’s attitude.’” (H/T: BPR)

As I pointed out in a previous article, there’s a chance the murderer’s “justification” for targeting Christians came by way of Oregon’s anti-Christian laws. If the government is against Christians, and will fine them $135,000 for not baking a cake, then it seems that these Christians are a problem.

Christians are a target in the United States and around the world, and President Obama is silent unless, as in the Charleston case, he can use it to further his agenda.
