Jeremiah Wright was one of America’s most radical ministers. The Obamas sat under his preaching for many years. Wright officiated at their wedding as well as their children’s baptisms. The title of Obama’s 2006 memoir, The Audacity of Hope, was inspired by one of Wright’s sermons and was the source for themes of Obama’s 2004 keynote address to the Democratic National Convention.

So it can legitimately be said that the Obamas and Wright were “as thick as thieves.” There is no doubt that much of Wright’s radicalism rubbed off on President Obama similar to the way the ideas of Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers have rubbed off on him and other leftists.

If a conservative politician had sat under such preaching for as long as the Obamas did, he would be hounded by the press, denounced by people in his own party, and sent packing to a deserted island paid for by the GOP.

The media generally ignored Wright’s radical views and President Obama’s lame attempt to distance himself from his former mentor.

While this all sounds like ancient history, it seems that President Obama can’t stay away from radical preachers.

On Easter Sunday, President Obama and his family attended services at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Rev. Luis Leon officiated and preached the sermon. If you don’t remember, it was Leon, who delivered the benediction at President Obama’s second inauguration in after Rev. Louie Giglio stepped aside because of gay bullying over a sermon on homosexuality he had given in the mid-1990s.

The biblical version of Easter Sunday is a recognition Jesus’ victory over death and the satisfaction He made in the payment for the sins of His people. The resurrection is the core of the Christian faith. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then we are still in our sins (1 Cor. 15:12–20).

If you did not hear this message on Easter Sunday, then you did not hear the true Easter message.

Here’s what Obama and his family heard form Rev. Luis Leon:

“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back … for blacks to be back in the back of the bus … for women to be back in the kitchen … for immigrants to be back on their side of the border.”

I sure would like to know who these “captains of the religious right” are who are doing these things. If he would tell us, I would join him in condemning them. Of course, there aren’t any. It’s shocking that a minister on Easter would violate the Ninth Commandment: “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Ex. 20:16)

What Rev. Leon does not seem to understand is that many blacks are still sitting in the back of the bus because of the liberal policies that he and President Obama promote. In fact, there are places in America where the only people riding the buses are blacks. Government subsidies to these areas of major cities created multi-generational self-sustaining ghettos.

Hear me on this: Liberals do not hear what we are saying. It could be that they don’t want to hear. It doesn’t matter. They have a narrative that is working. A majority of voters believe that the conservative message is about denying essential freedoms to minorities and women.

In reality, it’s liberal policies that have kept blacks in poverty.

Obama is using a tried and true victim narrative that shifts blame to conservatives for America’s economic ills. The goal is to build a liberal coalition of power that will turn the United States into the next socialist democracy. The dirty secret is that it’s been nearly 50 years of liberal policies that have created a system of dependency and entitlement that have wrecked the black family.
