He didn’t mean to do it (at least I don’t think he did), but Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is the best thing that ever happened to gun ownership in America. In an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox, Justice Scalia said that “the Second Amendment leaves open the possibility of gun-control legislation, adding to what has become a slow-boiling debate on the issue since the Colorado movie theater massacre earlier this month.”

You know what everybody is thinking. If the Supreme Court might rule to limit gun ownership sometime in the future, gun sales are going to go through the roof. In fact, after posting this article, I’m going to purchase a 4”-barrel .357 Mag revolver to add to my collection. I’ve got my conceal carry permit. I refuse to be left defenseless.

Stories are coming out about mobs attacking people and businesses. While the economy is lukewarm, what will happen when we enter into depression territory? The media are propping up the economy in order to get Obama a second term. If Romney wins, the media will turn sour on the economy and talk it down like they did when George H. W. Bush was president.

A story out of Chicago (naturally) describes the actions of a flash mob:

After posting surveillance video of a flash mob robbery online and sharing the video with CBS 2 News, a Wicker Park store owner said he and police have received several tips about the group of about 20 teens responsible for stealing more than $3,000 worth of jeans over the weekend.

Teenagers with nothing to lose and the cover of accomplices are growing bolder:

[T]hese crimes are being organized by young teenagers through various social media outlets, most notably Twitter. Police say the suspects select a time and place and enter the store in droves taking what they want and leaving before security or police can catch them.

Some of the most brazen robberies take place in the light of day and on busy streets despite all the security cameras and the watchful eyes of workers. . . .

The pack mentality emboldens the thieves to strike fast, so fast that the store clerks don’t have time to react. “Over 90 percent of crimes committed by young people are done so in a group,” Scott Decker a professor of criminology at Arizona State University, told FoxNews.com

The police can’t be everywhere. Thugs don’t go where the cops are. They go where there are victims . . . where the pickings are easy.  We know that self-defense with guns works, and so do the criminals. “No one knows how often guns are used for self defense. The Cato Institute says anywhere from 100,000 to one million times a year.”

If the court rules that gun ownership can be limited, these young criminals will be even bolder. It’s time that we prepare for what could be. Never say, “It can’t happen here.” It is happening here

If criminals get the idea that at any given time 10 percent of the population is armed, they’ll think twice about committing a crime.
