GOP Candidates Can’t Answer this Simple Question

Rick Santorum is the latest Republican presidential hopeful that either refuses to answer the question or can’t answer the question about whether same-sex attraction and action are innate. Scott Walker and Marco Rubio have also waffled on the issue or at least not having a good answer to the question:

“During a discussion about the Supreme Court’s historic decision to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide, the liberal news anchor asked Santorum point-blank if he thinks being gay is a choice.

“‘You know, I’ve sort of never answered that question because I don’t really know the answer to that question, but I suspect that there’s all sorts of reasons that people end up the way they are. And I’ll sort of leave it at that,’ Santorum replied.

“Maddow insisted that Santorum’s opinion on whether homosexuality is an unchangeable characteristic of a person’s identity matters greatly to the issue at hand: if Congress should challenge the SCOTUS decision.”

There is no scientific study that supports that claim that people who engage in same-sex sexuality are born that way. If there is such a test, then who has been tested to support the claim? Should someone who claims to be a homosexual have to show a copy of the performed genetic test in order to prove same-sex innateness?

Should the two women who wanted a wedding cake from Sweet Cakes by Melissa have to prove that they are in fact genetically predisposed to lesbianism? The facts are not on the side of the homosexuals, something that even some homosexuals admit:

In an article in the Daily Caller, gay writer David Benkof presents the solid case of the historians—several of whom are also LGBT—who maintain that the sexual orientation of homosexuality didn’t exist until about 150 years ago.

“While same-sex relationships and behavior have happened from time to time throughout history, LGBT scholarly studies show zero evidence of any culture with gay-oriented individuals at any point in history.

“The mountain of scholarly research also continues to show no ‘gay gene’ accounting for sexual orientation from birth.”

There have been other studies: “Eight major studies of identical twins in Australia, the U.S., and Scandinavia during the last two decades all arrive at the same conclusion: gays were not born that way.”

Has Rachel Maddow been tested? If she hasn’t, she should be. If she were tested, and it was found out that there were no genetic markers that indicate that she was born a lesbian, then she would have to admit that her sexuality is a choice, and if it’s a choice, the claim that a class of people called “homosexuals” exists would be forever refuted.

Santorum did bring up a good point that there have been numerous people who have identified as homosexual and no longer do, for example, Rosaria Champagne Butterfield:

“In 1999, Rosaria Champagne Butterfield was a tenured English professor at Syracuse University, a skeptic of all things Christianity, and in a committed lesbian relationship. Her academic specialty was Queer Theory, a postmodern form of gay and lesbian studies.

“Today Butterfield is a mother of four, a homemaker, and wife of a Presbyterian pastor named Kent. They live in Durham, North Carolina.”

Anybody could claim that what they did is the result of a genetic predisposition. Pedophiles claim that they can’t help themselves.

The Toronto Star reports:

“Pedophilia has been widely viewed as a psychological disorder triggered by early childhood trauma.

“Now, many experts see it as a biologically rooted condition that does not change — like a sexual orientation — thanks largely to a decade of research by Dr. James Cantor at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

“Cantor’s team has found that pedophiles share a number of physical characteristics, including differences in brain wiring. It’s now thought that about 1 to 5 per cent of men are pedophiles, meaning they are primarily attracted to children.”

Even if being “born that way” is true and could be quantified experimentally, it does not mean the desire or the behavior should be socially accepted and mandated by law. Since science is the end-point determiner for liberals, biology is a prime indicator that same-sex sexuality is biologically dysfunctional and detrimental to the evolution of the human race.
