If Gay Sex is OK Why Keep the Ban on Gay Blood Donations?

Gay rights is all the rage. Irrational judges are making irrational decisions about the normalcy of same-sex everything.

Anybody who knows anything about biology knows, same-sex sexuality is more than irrational. In the 1980s there was the great AIDS awareness drive. The claim was made by homosexuals that anybody could get AIDS. We soon learned that this was not the case. Men who engaged in same-sex sexuality, drug users, and people who received blood transfusion from AIDS infected men were the transmitters of AIDS.

Ryan White was a hemophiliac who died from AIDS infected blood. “As a hemophiliac, he became infected with HIV from a contaminated blood treatment and, when diagnosed in December 1984, was given six months to live.”

He was used by the homosexual community to spread the propaganda that anybody could get AIDS. Actually, anybody could get AIDS if they received tainted blood. But what was the source of the infected blood?

As a result, homosexuals have been denied being able to donate blood. If gay sex is just like heterosexual sex, then why have such a ban, and why continue the ban given the way the courts have ruled legalizing same-sex marriage?

I would have thought that by now the ban would have been lifted. To my surprise, it hasn’t.

A panel of experts convened by U.S. health regulators failed Wednesday to decide whether a lifetime ban should be lifted on gay men donating blood, following two days of heated deliberations.

“The Food and Drug Administration, which takes into account the 17-member committee’s suggestions, did not indicate when it would make a decision.

“‘The meeting provided valuable information and perspectives that will help inform the FDA’s deliberations,’ spokeswoman Jennifer Rodriguez told AFP.

“‘The FDA’s primary concern as we continue to review our blood donation policies will be assuring the continued safety of blood and blood products for the patients who receive these products.’”

If gay sex is so normal, rational, and biologically straight, why extend the ban? Homosexuals are just like everybody else. Why are they getting AIDS and other sexuality transmitted diseases at a higher rate than the heterosexual population?

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) have been increasing among gay and bisexual men, with recent increases in syphilis being documented across the country. In 2012, men who have sex with men (MSM) accounted for 75% of primary and secondary syphilis cases in the United States. MSM often are diagnosed with other STDs, including chlamydia and gonorrhea infections.”

When people’s lives are at stake, real science kicks in and people get rational again.
