Former Pres. Bush finally speaks out against a President. He had eight years to criticize the policies of Barack Obama and said nothing.

Now that Pres. Trump is doing what George Bush failed to do in his eight years as President, Pres. Bush has something to say. It started in 2017 when Bush claimed that Pres. Trump “has promoted bigotry and falsehoods to the detriment of the country and its values.”

The Los Angeles Times reported:

The remarks were an exceptional breach of the protocol governing post-presidential behavior — be seen and rarely heard — and were especially striking coming from Bush. He has gone to great lengths to ignore repeated provocations from Trump, who savaged the former president’s younger brother Jeb in the 2016 campaign and often assailed the Bush administration.

“I think Trump has stretched the bounds of decency to a point where Bush is highly offended on the part of the nation,” said Don Sipple, a political ad maker who helped elect Bush governor of Texas and has periodically been in touch with the former president. “Bush is a traditionalist, and I think he thinks the presidency is being besmirched.”

It’s amazing how the Bush family has become the darling of the Leftist media since Trump became President.

While Pres. Trump has not been as conservative as we might like, he’s done more politically for the conservative movement than both Bushes combined.

It’s Trump who lowered taxes for nearly all Americans, not the Bushes. Let’s not forget the campaign promise of former Pres. George H.W. Bush at the 1988 Republican National Convention as he accepted the nomination:

And I’m the one who will not raise taxes. My opponent now says he’ll raise them as a last resort, or a third resort. But when a politician talks like that, you know that’s one resort he’ll be checking into. My opponent won’t rule out raising taxes. But I will. And the Congress will push me to raise taxes and I’ll say no. And they’ll push, and I’ll say no, and they’ll push again, and I’ll say, to them, “Read my lips: no new taxes.”

Bush’s “no new taxes” broken pledge “was one of several important factors leading to Bush’s defeat. In fact, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh in his book See I Told You So, believes Bush would have easily won re-election had he not increased taxes. Republican pollster Richard Wirthlin called his promise ‘the six most destructive words in the history of presidential politics.'”

More recently, Bush 43 remarked, “[Chaos in Trump White House] sorta makes me look pretty good, doesn’t it?”

Actually, it doesn’t. Bush signed “No Child Left Behind” into law, another central government power-grabbing boondoggle that has left nearly every government school child behind. Instead of chaos in the WH, we got chaos in education.

The Bush presidency was “besmirched” when he waged an unconstitutional and immoral war against Iraq that left 4486 Americans dead and 31,952 wounded in action, more than 125,000 Iraqi civilians dead and displaced, and the Christian minority nearly wiped out.

He left chaos in its wake.

In addition, “in 2006, a National Intelligence Estimate concluded that the Iraq War had become the ’cause célèbre for jihadists.'” Let’s not forget the trillions of dollars flushed down the drain in the process.

Pres. Trump responded to Bush’s comment about Trump making former Pres. Bush “look pretty good” with the following as reported by The Hill:

President Trump blasted former President George W. Bush on Saturday over the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, calling it “the single worst decision ever made.”

Speaking at a closed-door event with Republican donors in Florida, Trump mocked Bush’s intellect and compared his decision to invade Iraq to “throwing a big fat brick into a hornet’s nest.”

No president is perfect. They are all big spenders and power grabbers, but at least Pres. Trump has put a dent in the power structure to give us some relief.

What Trump needs to do is stay on the road campaigning from now until December to keep the Democrats from regaining power.
