David Letterman is an Obama apologist, a “useful idiot,” a description of influential people who supported Soviet Communism. In an interview with NBC News anchor Brian Williams, Letterman asked, “What more do we want this man [Obama] to do for us, honest to God?”

I don’t remember David Letterman criticizing the media and Democrat opposition to George W. Bush when he was president. In fact, during the Williams’ interview, Letterman once again attacked George Bush.

I don’t know anyone who is criticizing the Obama administration for getting Osama bin Laden, the topic Letterman was discussing with Williams. People are miffed that President Obama seems to be taking all the credit for the hit but not the hit itself. Many conservatives were critical of George Bush for not being more pro-active in getting bin Laden.

The majority of Americans are concerned about their loss of freedoms, a struggling economy, higher taxes on the horizon, more government regulations, a 2700-page healthcare bill that will ration medical care, an inept and possibly criminal Department of Justice, a newly liberalized Supreme Court, racially charged rhetoric, the defining of deviancy down in the promotion of homosexuality, inhibiting domestic energy production by attacking the coal industry and stopping the Keystone Pipeline, an increase in the national debt, a fabricated war on women, the support of union thuggery, funneling billions of dollars to companies that can’t make it in the free market, and so much more.

I’m a person who does not want the president to do things for me. Getting Osama Bin Laden is the military’s job. As Commander-in-Chief, it’s part of the president’s job to ensure that the objective is carried out. It is not his job to manage the economy, confiscate money from productive job makers, and redistribute the largesse to the underprivileged.

So when Letterman scolds us for wanting the president to do more for us, it’s obvious that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and what’s really bothering millions of Americans. Letterman lives an isolated life. His millions — as a one-percenter along with Obama who’s worth $10 million — allows him to live above the concerns of the masses.

For starters, something better than the weakest economic recovery in the modern era, the worst jobs record of any president in the modern era, the highest sustained unemployment rate since the Great Depression, a housing crisis worse than the Great Depression, unprecedented deficits and debt, a standard of living that’s fallen longer and more steeply during the past three years than at any time since the government began recording it five decades ago, a downgrade in the United States’ credit rating for the first time in history, and a record number of people in poverty.

Letterman might want to take a look at the Constitution. It is our duty to “petition the government for a redress of grievances” when those who take an oath to uphold the Constitution continually violate it.
