Can You Pass this Simple Political Quiz?
The following quiz was sent to me by a friend. I did some checking on line to see if the quotations were accurate. What I found was several sites trying to make the quotations less ominous. They are what they are.
Given what we know about politicians, the actual implementation of these types of ideas are worse than what the authors actually said. We’re seeing it every day with this administration.
Public policy statements are nuanced in such a way as to reach the base while being vague enough so that are not seen as being radical.
For example, one of the quotations states, “The free market has failed. We have all failed.” When a politician says something has failed, what he or she really means is, “government is here to help you.”
So with this brief introduction, identify the tyrant by the quotation:
1. “We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”
A. Karl Marx
B. Adolph Hitler
C. Josef Stalin
D. None of the above
2. “It’s time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the few…. And to replace it with shared responsibility, for shared prosperity.”
A. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin
B. Benito Mussolini
C. Idi Amin
D. None of the Above
3. “(We) … can’t just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.”
A. Nikita Khrushev

4. “We have to build a political consensus and that requires people to give up a little bit of their own … in order to create this common ground.”

5. “I certainly think the free-market has failed.”
A. Karl Marx

One critic of the above quiz wrote, “So is Hillary Clinton advocating communism? Hardly.” This was before she and Bill presided over the swearing in of the new mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio. De Blasio is a Marxist (also see “New York City: Comrade Mayor is Sworn In”). Birds of a feather flock together.
