Unelected Bureaucrats Created 80,000 Pages of Regulations in 2013

Who needs Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court when we have bureaucrats? It takes years and many votes to get an Amendment to the Constitution passed. Who cares about the Amendment process when there’s an army of bureaucrats who can create regulations out of thin air that you and I are obligated to follow.

MSNBC posted a story about how 2013 was an unproductive year for Congress.

“With only a handful of remaining legislative days on their calendar, this current Congress is on track to go down as one of the most unproductive in modern history.

“The paltry number of bills Congress has passed into law this year paints a vivid picture of just how bad the gridlock has been for lawmakers, whose single-digit approval rating illustrates that the public is hardly satisfied with their trickle of legislative activity.

“According to THOMAS, the legislative tracking service, this Congress has passed just 52 public laws since it gaveled into session in January.”

Just 52 public laws that amount to a few hundred pages. Even ObamaCare is a paltry sum of pages (2700) compared to what the bureaucrats did – 80,000 pages of regulations that have the force of law!

Don’t misunderstand me; I’m thankful that Congress didn’t pass many new laws. But our elected officials are small-time hoodlums compared to the cadre of mafia bureaucrats who never seem to tire of regulating us to death.

Senator Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) posted this image to show the 2013 regulatory nightmare that was written for our destruction in 2013.

“Behold my display of the 2013 Federal Register,” Lee wrote in the Facebook description. “It contains over 80,000 pages of new rules, regulations, and notices all written and passed by unelected bureaucrats.”80,000 Pages of Regulations

“The small stack of papers on top of the display [outlined in red] are the laws passed by elected members of Congress and signed into law by the president.”

It doesn’t matter who’s president, these bureaucrats will remain in office. And beyond that, judges will consider these regulations as the law of the land, thus, nullifying the Constitution they swore to uphold.

Congress is not guiltless. Our elected officials let these bureaucrats get away with this regulatory nightmare.
