Third-World Voter Intimidation in Philadelphia
The Black Panthers are back intimidating voters at Philadelphia precincts. You don’t need an ID to vote; all you need is a Black Panther to help you. A similar incident took place in 2008. Charges were filed against the intimidators, but Obama’s Attorney General wasn’t interested. The charges of voter intimidation were dismissed. Now they’re back. Fox News reports:
A member of the New Black Panther Party who was charged with voter intimidation in the 2008 election for standing outside a Philadelphia polling site was back Tuesday morning – in an official capacity.
Jerry Jackson, who was charged in the 2008 case along with Minister King Samir Shabazz, but later saw charges dropped by the Department of Justice, was seen early Tuesday outside a North Philadelphia voting site wearing the group’s trademark black beret, combat-style uniform and heavy boots. Fox News confirmed he is a designated poll watcher.
Now we learn that court-appointed Republican poll inspectors were “forcibly removed from voting stations in some Philadelphia wards and replaced in some cases by Democratic inspectors and even members of the Black Panthers, according to GOP officials.”
In response, “[a] Pennsylvania judge is issuing an order to reinstate Republican election officials across Philadelphia who allegedly were ejected or refused entry by on-site Democratic voting chief judges. . . One Republican official claimed that ‘just under 70’ Republican election officials were blocked from Philadelphia polling sites Tuesday morning by Democrats on site. One of them, the official claimed, ‘was shoved out of the polling place.’”
These are third-world voter intimidation tactics. They are also racist and unconstitutional. The judge should have gone beyond having the poll watchers reinstated; he should have sent police to have the intimidators arrested.
