Mitt Romney was never my first choice for President. I would have liked to have seen any number of other candidates be in the top spot. But that didn’t happen. I know there are a lot of Ron Paul supporters, of which I am one (for the most part as I would say about any candidate), who will argue that he was robbed in the delegate count. Paul ended his campaign in May without having won the popular vote in any state primary even though he did win a number of caucuses. In the end, it’s the popular vote that’s going to count.

There’s a great deal of pushback among discontented and ticked off conservative/libertarian/anti-establishment voters. They are insisting that it would be better not to vote for Mitt Romney and let President Obama win another four years. I guess they believe that things would get so bad that the majority of Americans would see the light and vote for their kind of candidate. I don’t see it, and neither can anyone else.

If Obama gets another four years, he will solidify the liberal Democrat base. We are at a 50-50 tipping point. If the electoral scale tips beyond 50 percent, we’re going to be living in an unrecognizable America. We’re nearly there. It won’t be the America of your grandparents or parents.

Here are a few things to consider.

President Obama, while vilifying Mitt Romney for opposing the auto industry bailout, bragged about the success of his decision to provide government assistance and said he now wants to see every manufacturing industry come roaring back.

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”

He is calling for the nationalization of American business. Think Hugo Chavez and the Venezuelan economy. That’s where we are headed if Obama gets re-elected. It amazes me that so many people believe Romney will do the same thing. Once a business is nationalized, it’s hard to privatize it again.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Democrats, through the EPA, shut down the coal industry. They won’t pass a law saying the coal industry can’t operate. The EPA will regulate them out of business. Do we think Romney will do this? Not if he gets push back from a stacked conservative Congress that we won’t get if anti-Obama voters stay home on election-day.

The newly energized socialists in France are pushing for a 75 percent tax rate for those making more than $1 million per year. When film actor Will Smith heard this, after just saying that he would pay what was needed, he said, “God bless America.” I doubt that Romney will go in this direction.

The goal is to stop Obama and all that he represents. Mitt Romney gives us some breathing room, but only if we continue the assault on the so-called Progressive agenda the day after the November election. Preparation has to be made for 2014 and 2016 and beyond.
