Michael Moore is a Big Fat Hypocrite (But You Knew that Already)

I know, it’s not nice to call people names. I got the title for my article from Al Franken’s book, Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot. Since those on the Left side of the political divide did not object to the “big fat” description of an icon of the Right, I reasoned that they shouldn’t be upset about me applying it to Michael Moore, especially since Franken is a sitting United States Senator. If it’s OK for Leftists and a sitting US Senator, we should all be OK with it. There are no double standards here.

Why is Moore a hypocrite? He claims to be with the so-called 99-percenters when he is a one-percenter. Truth be told, he’s closer to a tenth-of-a-percenter. He’s worth millions. His film Fahrenheit 9/11 cost $6 million. Where did he get the money? If it came out of his pocket, then he’s a millionaire. If the money came out of someone else’s pocket, then he’s friends with a bunch of one-percenters. Either way, this makes him a hypocrite.

Get this. According to Box Office Mojo, Fahrenheit 9/11 raked in $222,446,882 (domestic and foreign). Bowling for Columbine, with a cost of $4 million, brought in $58 million. Sicko was not far behind with $36 million, followed by Capitalism: A Love Story at $17 million. That’s more than $333 million. This doesn’t count his speaking fees, personal appearance fees, and book royalties.

Now we learn that Moore is something of a house horse. Here’s how the folks at Andrew Breitbart’s Big Hollywood (the pictures are there for all to see) site tell the story of Michael “The One-Percenter” Moore:

Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore has been touring Occupy Wall Street demonstrations across the country – including some of the most violent, such as Occupy Oakland – urging activists to continue their fight against the wealthy “one percent” of Americans.

Initially, Moore tried to deny that his massive wealth made him a member of that one percent. Even when forced to admit the obvious, Moore suggested that he was not always among the one percent, based on his income: “Other years, like last year, I don’t have a job (no movie, no book) and so I make a lot less.”

The fact is that Moore is so wealthy that he does not need to worry about his income. According to public tax records, Moore owns a massive vacation home on Torch Lake, Michigan – one of the most elite communities in the United States – in addition to his posh Manhattan residence.

The torch Lake home is huge. According to one real estate website, homes on Torch Lake range in price “from $400,000 to plus $3 million.” Moore’s home is valued at $2 million.

Moore accumulated his massive wealth by selling his “documentary” tripe to the very people who are occupying cities around the country. They made him the rich big fat hypocrite he is today. He’s anti-capitalist on film, but he’s not anti-capitalist when it comes to his own personal business. He’s laughing all the way to the bank and to his multi-million-dollar home on Torch Lake.
