Marxist NY Mayor de Blasio has Multi-Millionaire Bill Clinton Swear Him In
Bill de Blasio is the new Marxist mayor of New York City. He ran on the Marxist platform of “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need” as defined by the State who creates more needy and dependent people with every new law it passes to thwart entrepreneurial success and tax it implements.
Marx didn’t say that last part, but that’s how it eventually works out.
If you don’t believe me, take a trip to Cuba. I just read that after 50 years commercial flights to Cuba have started from Key West, Florida. “US customs and border protection gave the final approval for the flight” on December 30, 2013.
Here’s how the New York Times reported the de Blasio event:
“In his inaugural address, Mayor de Blasio described social inequality as a ‘quiet crisis’ on a par with the other urban cataclysms of the city’s last half-century, from fiscal collapse to crime waves to terrorist attacks, and said income disparity was a struggle no less urgent to confront.
“‘We are called to put an end to economic and social inequalities that threaten to unravel the city we love,’ he said to about 5,000 people at the ceremony, many beneath blankets on a numbingly cold day.”
Bill Clinton officiated in swearing Bill de Blasio into office. Bill Clinton is Mr. Income Inequality. Consider this from CelebrityNetWorth.com:
“In the 12 years since Bill Clinton has left office, he has given 544 paid speeches all over the world. His fee has ranged from $28,000 to $750,000. The average fee for a single speaking engagement has been $195,000. In 2012, Bill earned $17 million and in 2011 he earned $13.4 million. In total he has made $106 million off speaking engagements since 2001. Interestingly, Bill has earned more money giving speeches internationally than here at home in the US. . . .
“Earlier this year [2013] Hillary Clinton re-entered private life after stepping down as Secretary of State. Hillary quickly earned a cool $14 million advance for future book with publishing company Simon & Schuster. She is also starting to hit the private speech circuit and earning six figures for her time. Despite their past controversies, the Clintons certainly seem to have stuck together well. If Hillary and Bill continue to cash in and stay out of politics, it’s likely that their combined net worth will pass the $200 million mark in the next 3-5 years.”
I’m sure the Clintons left town before de Blasio could tax them. The super-rich Clinton had the audacity to say the following in his comments at the de Blasio inauguration:
“This inequality problem bedevils the entire country. But it is not just a moral outrage, it is a horrible constraint on economic growth and on giving people the security they need to tackle problems like climate change.”
There are more “from each according to his need” voters in New York City than there are “from each according to his ability” voters.
De blasio won’t be able to make his Marxist paradise work without the productive people of New York. If he is successful in taxing the rich to make it happen, he’ll drive more of the job creators out of the city.
There’s a good economic reason Rush Limbaugh left New York City for Naples, Florida. The same is true for Lebron James who chose the Miami Heat over the New York Knicks. It was all about money – tax money.
Bill de Blasio is all about fixing income inequality but he can’t afford to lose his rich and power friends. He needs their money to be a Marxist mayor.
