Honey Boo Boo is 7-year-old Alana Thompson, the star of the highly-watched series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Reality TV is big business. The shows are cheap to produce and viewership is high. Millions of people like to watch people make fools of themselves.

People feel good watching a show like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, a quart-size child beauty queen contestant. They feel better about their sorry condition. “At least we’re not that bad!”

I’ve never seen an episode of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. I’m a Pawn Stars sort of viewer. I like to be educated and entertained at the same time. Hard Core Pawn is educational in a different way. You can see what welfare has done to the poor. I suspect that the people who frequent the Detroit pawn shop also are going to vote for Obama.

Honey Boo Boo’s opinions are most likely that of her redneck parents. No disrespect is meant. Alana is a self-professed redneck. On the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show, she told the audience that they better “redneck-ognize”! 7-year-olds aren’t political. They parrot the beliefs of their parents. It’s evident from the interview that momma is a big Obama supporter, and a believer in certain leftist causes. “[Alana] endeared herself to gay fans of ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,’” Merideth Blake of the Los Angeles Times wrote, “when she said that ‘Ain’t nothin’ wrong with bein’ a little gay.’”

The funniest and most revealing part of the interview was the audience response. With any guest who spoke with a thick southern accent, Kimmel’s leftist audience would have ridiculed the little girl and her mother. They would have said that Alana’s mother was exploiting her. This would be especially true if Honey Boo Boo came from a conservative family. Consider what the Left did to the Palin family.

It was great to see the audience cheering this 7-year-old self-professed redneck endorsing President Obama. I wonder if after the show the Honey Boo Boo supporters went home and thought about what they had done. “We just cheered the opinion of a 7-year-old redneck from Georgia because she supports President Obama. What were we thinking?” That you’re idiots?
