Google has accused WND (formerly WorldNetDaily) of using “hate speech” for the site’s use of black mobs in its articles on black violence.

“The world’s most powerful Internet search engine has accused WND of using ‘hate speech’ and has threatened to block ads on the news site over its use of the term ‘black mobs’ in news stories and columns reporting on a two-year epidemic of racial attacks in the U.S.
“In response, WND is preemptively blocking Google ads in content in which that phrase appears in past and current stories, including this one. Other ad providers have agreed to step in and fill the gap.

“Joseph Farah, editor and CEO of WND, said the Google policy is flawed because it ‘attempts to censor words and phrases that are truthful and accurate from First Amendment-protected media on the basis of political correctness and faulty algorithmic methodology.’”

Many of the ads you see on websites are Google ads (Adsense). Advertisers use these ads to promote a product or information. Google and the website make money when people click the ads. Removing the ads can deal a serious blow to the income stream of a website.

Google is a private company. It can do what it wants with what it owns. The same is true of Facebook with its new designation of 50+ general options.

Describing people who are black who act in concert to commit acts of violence is a black mob. Saying it’s not does not change the truth. If a group of whites did something identical, I wouldn’t object to describing them as a “white mob.”

We use “mob violence” all the time. It’s part of our vernacular. “In legal usage, the term mob is practically synonymous with riot or with riotous assembly. A federal court held that night riders were a mob and that their act of burning a building constituted the crime of riot.”

I checked on Google. There are 47,000 search results for “white mobs” and 52,000 for “black mobs.” Most of the black mobs entries are of recent origin.

“In White Girl Bleed A Lot we learn that every day from black caucuses, black teachers, black unions, black ministers, black colleges, black high schools, black music, black moguls, black hair business owners, black public employees, black art, black names, black poets, black inventors, black soldiers, black police officers. We learn it in stories written by members of the National Association of Black Journalists. We talk about everything except black mob violence and lawlessness.”

Describing a mob in terms of its racial makeup as “hate speech” is not only wacky but frightening. Since when has descriptive truth been a “hate” issue? Where will it stop?

“The idea that WND somehow has racist motivations is bizarre, said Farah, especially when fully 20 percent of the site’s regular weekly columnists are black – including [Thomas] Sowell, Star Parker, Walter Williams, Eric Rush, Mychal Massey, Ellis Washington, Selena Owens, Ben Kinchlow, Alan Keyes and Larry Elder, not to mention other black WND columnists like Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson and Albert Thompson.”

So what if a black person uses “black mobs” or an equivalent phrase? Does Google consider that usage “hate speech”? For example, Thomas Sowell, who is black, wrote the following about the book “White Girl Bleed a Lot.”

“When I first saw a book by Colin Flaherty with the title “White Girl Bleed a Lot,” I instantly knew what it was about, even though I had not seen the book reviewed anywhere, and knew nothing about the author. . . . That phrase was spoken by a member of a mob of young blacks who attacked whites at random at a Fourth of July celebration in Milwaukee last year. What I was appalled to learn, in the course of my research, was that such race riots have occurred in other cities across the United States in recent years — and that the national mainstream media usually ignore these riots.”

Many in the media are covering themselves by describing these mobs “as unspecified ‘young people’ attacking unspecified victims for unspecified reasons,” Sowell writes. How is this honest reporting? Sometimes the truth hurts. Here’s  perfect example: “EXCLUSIVE: Mob of teens attack man in downtown Cleveland.” The victim being interviewed is white and he mentions “racial slurs” being used against him. “What they were saying was, ‘Knock that boy out!’ ‘White boy.’ ‘Cracker.’ They were saying, ‘Knock that white boy out.'”

Ignoring the reality of the truth doesn’t do anybody any favors. “Even the young hoodlums who launch these mass attacks on strangers would be better off being stopped now, rather than continuing on a path of escalating violence that can lead to a lifetime behind bars or to the execution chamber.”

Of course, you’ve noticed that liberals have no trouble accusing whites of every evil under heaven. How many times has the word “white” been used in conjunction with opposing to some liberal policy or program? Actually, “white” and “racist” are conjoined on a daily basis, and Google doesn’t bat an eye.
