Bizzle Smacks Down Macklemore’s “Same Love” Song

Bizzle, Mark J. Felder, is a Christian hip hop artist who has taken on the homosexual community and its equating same-sex sex with racial identity. On January 28th, Bizzle released a single entitled “Same Love (A Response).” It’s a response to the Grammy nominated pro-same-sex rights single “Same Love” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Rap isn’t my thing, but it is with millions of young people of all races.

Message lyrics set to music have been have been going on for a long time. The Psalms of David are a good ancient example.

Pete Seeger’s (1919-2014) anti-war songs inspired a generation: “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” (with Joe Hickerson), “If I Had a Hammer,” (with Lee Hays of the Weavers), and “Turn! Turn! Turn!” (lyrics adapted from the biblical book of Ecclesiastes).

Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s “Ohio” became an anti-war classic. Neil Young’s “Southern Man” slammed the South but was countered by Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama.”

Then there’s John Lennon’s “Imagine” that atheists have turned into a secular hymn.

Rap songs carry messages as well, some good and some bad.

Bizzle has taken on the powerful “Gay Mafia” with his respond to the pro-homosexual “Same Love” song. Of course, he’s been called “homophobic.”

Bizzle’s response calls out the “Same Love” lyrics “for comparing the LGBT struggle to the Black struggle. Bizzle joins Lord Jamar among artists who believe that Macklemore is trying to push a ‘gay agenda’ that does not belong in Hip Hop”:

“You rather fight God than fight sin / The Bible is alright until it calls what you like sin / And I feel so disrespected that you were so desperate / You would compare your sexual habits to my skin / Calling it ‘the new black?’ Tell me, where they do that? / They hung us like tree ornaments, where were you at? / They burned us for entertainment, you go through that? / Moms raped in front of their kids while they shoot dad / Ever been murdered just for trying to learn how to read, bro? / Show of hands? I didn’t think so / So quit comparing the two it ain’t the same fight / You can play straight. We can never play white.

“Using black people as pawns for your agenda / These sell-out rappers that do whatever you tell em.”
