Will Going Further Left With Socialist Elizabeth Warren Kill the Democrat Party?

You’ve got to hand it to the Democrats. They don’t compromise. Instead of moving to the middle after being stomped on in the latest election, they are embracing the far, far Left. That’s where their real activist base is found.

While many in the GOP are running away from their real activist base in the Tea Party, the Democrats are embracing what is now the New Democrat Party. The Party of John F. Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey is dead. It died in the back seat of Ted Kennedy’s car. If the Democrats were willing to keep Ted Kennedy in office after the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, then they were willing to sell off what was left of their soul to the highest bidder.

Personally, I think moving further left is political suicide, but you’ve got to give the Democrats credit for being loyal to what they have become as a party.

I think they believe that their base did not turn out because there was the perception among the Party’s liberal base that it had been betrayed. The Democrats refused to openly to embrace The Occupy Movement.

Elizabeth Warren is the ultra-liberal Senator from Massachusetts. One would think that after the drubbing the Democrats got on Election Day that they might have reassessed their party’s position. They have, and they have decided to go all Che Guevara on America:

“Senate Democrats have enlisted progressive firebrand Elizabeth Warren to be a member of their leadership team, giving a major platform to a liberal icon just a week after Democrats took a beating at the polls and lost control of the Senate.

“Harry Reid, the incoming Senate minority leader, had engaged in private talks with the Massachusetts freshman to create a special leadership post for the former Harvard professor, and the leadership elections Thursday solidified the new Democratic team.

“Adding Warren, Democrats say, would bring in a nationally known name who could help sharpen the Democratic message as it goes toe-to-toe with the new Senate Republican majority. The move would likely be viewed favorably by an increasingly liberal caucus.”

Politico is reporting, “The Massachusetts senator got a rock stars’ welcome during a closed-door speech to major donors, one of whom interrupted her by yelling ‘Run, Liz, Run!'”

Here’s the problem for the Democrats, especially if Warren decides to challenge Hillary Clinton in 2016 for the presidency. There are a lot of Democrats up for re-election in 2016 who aren’t anywhere near where Warren is. How are they going to convince voters in their states and congressional districts that they are not as liberal as radically leftist Elizabeth Warren?

A vote for a Democrat, if Warren is the nominee, will mean congressional support for her and her civilization-destroying policies. I suspect that many Middle-America Democrats will stay home if Warren runs. They might even vote Republican like they did in two elections for Reagan in the 1980s.

Speaking at Netroots Nation, a convention for liberal bloggers and activists, Warren outlined her “11 Commandments of Progressivism.” You can read my response to them here.

These are Warren’s public statements. Her private beliefs are even more radical. We learned this lesson from Obama’s presidency. He said one thing while campaigning, and operated in a more radical way as President.

Speaking of President Obama, he’s also not modifying his radical agenda after being stomped on Election Day. Like Reid and Warren, he believes the key to future Democrat victories will be found in the ultra-liberal wing of the party:

“President Obama has taken significant steps to the left since his party’s devastating losses in the midterm elections.

“In a surprise, he announced a major deal on climate change with China during a trip to Beijing Tuesday. That followed another unanticipated move — a Monday statement pressuring the Federal Communications Commission to adopt new net neutrality rules for the Internet.”

The 2016 election could make or break America. If the Republicans decide to embrace the principles of the Tea Party, there’s a good chance the Democrats could suffer another major political blow that will turn them into a long-term minority party.

The biggest mistake the Republicans could make is to sit back and count on the self-destruction to take place.

You can’t beat something with nothing.
