Why Should We Trust the ObamaCare Enrollment Numbers?

I’m writing this before the release of the ObamaCare enrollment numbers. Why should we trust any number this administration reveals to us? There’s no way for us to check it.

Obama lied about keeping our existing plans and doctors, what makes anyone think that he’s going to tell the truth about how many people have enrolled?

No matter what numbers they give, the administration will spin them in their favor. Look who the spin doctor is going to be for this side show:

“The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will release a report on the numbers at 3:30 p.m., and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will discuss the findings on a press call then.”

Here’s a bit more of the spin:

“The White House has been trying to lower already low expectations for the numbers, as press secretary Jay Carney did, yet again, at his daily briefing Wednesday. ‘No one will be satisfied with the numbers because they will be below what we sought’ prior to the launch of the website, he told reporters.’”

A new poll shows that the trust factor is starting to dog the president. The trustworthy factor is starting to show up in polls, as CNN is reporting:

“[F]or the first time in Quinnipiac polling, more voters say the President is not trustworthy. The new survey was conducted last week and over the weekend, mostly after Obama offered an apology on Thursday to people who are losing their insurance because of changes from the federal health care law.

“When selling health care reform in his first term, the President repeatedly assured Americans they could keep their plans, if they liked them. However, that has not turned out to be the case, with some Americans holding certain plans getting cancellation notices from their providers.”

Neither the lies nor Obama’s falling poll numbers matter. We are stuck with ObamaCare unless the Republicans offer an offensive, an offensive that does not include helping Obama fix what is an unconstitutional and economy-killing piece of legislation.
