The Girl Scout Propaganda Machine
It’s not enough that children are brainwashed in government schools. Now parents have to keep a watchful eye on private organizations that once had a reputation for upholding American Values. Unlike the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts of the USA accepts homosexuals and allows its members to substitute another word in place of “God” when reciting the Girl Scout Promise.1:
Girl Scouts of the USA makes no attempt to define or interpret the word “God” in the Girl Scout Promise. It looks to individual members to establish for themselves the nature of their spiritual beliefs. When making the Girl Scout Promise, individuals may substitute wording appropriate to their own spiritual beliefs for the word “God.
Girl Scouts USA is the largest organization in the world dedicated solely to girls. The organization currently has 3.6 million members — 2.7 million ages five to 17. What the Girl Scouts teach trickle down to impressionable young minds.
The Girl Scouts has steadily redefined its values by cozying up to Planned Parenthood, homosexual and so-called transgendered groups, and the ultra-Leftist Media Matters through a book published in 2010 titled MEdia.
In 2004, the CEO of Girl Scouts USA, Kathy Cloninger stated the following on national television: “We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with our church communities, with YWCAs, and with Planned Parenthood organizations across the country, to bring information-based sex education programs to girls.
Here’s a statement from the Girl Scouts of Colorado who let a boy who dresses like a girl join their organization:
“If a child identifies as a girl and the child’s family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout. In this case, an associate delivering our program was not aware of our approach. She contacted her supervisor, who immediately began working with the family to get the child involved and supported in Girl Scouts. We are accelerating our support systems and training so that we’re better able to serve all girls, families and volunteers.”
Now we learn that the Girl Scouts has been directing its membership to the Leftist media group Media Matters as a good source of information that is unbiased and factual.
Under the title “Consider the Source,” MEdia encourages girls to go to the Media Matters website to check out the truthfulness of media stories. The book puts Media Matters in the same category as Snopes, another website that leans Left. Here’s the directive from the MEdia book:
The Internet is a breeding ground for “urban legends,” which are false stories told as if true. Next time you receive a txt or e-mail about something that seems unbelievable, confirm it before you spread it.
The fact-checking site snopes.com investigates everything from urban legends to “news” articles and posts its findings. Media Matters for America (http://mediamatters.org/) gets the word out about media misinformation.
Media Matters is a cesspool of Marxist sludge.
It’s obvious that the authors of MEdia knew what they were doing when they made Media Matters the sole source on getting “the word out about media information.” Actually, the authors aren’t that far off since nearly everything Media Matters publishes is media misinformation.
MEdia isn’t the first attempt to propagandize young girls. In the book Girltopia, Girl Scouts are encouraged to “let songs inspire you.” Seems harmless enough until you take a gander at some of the songs: “Hammer and a Nail” by the Indigo Girls – a lesbian rock band; the atheist anthem “Imagine” by John Lennon. The curriculum invites girls to create an avatar “to represent the ideal you in Girltopia and features “Wild Geese,” a short poem by lesbian poet Mary Oliver. (Source)
The list of female role models for Girl Scouts in Your Voice, Your World reads like a Who’s Who of “feminists, lesbians, existentialists, communists and Marxists.”
If you’re fed up with the Girl Scouts, you can try American Heritage Girls, a Christian Scouting organization. American Heritage Girls’ policies on homosexuality and atheism are similar to those held by Boy Scouts of America. It was formed by parents who were unhappy that the Girl Scouts accepted lesbians as troop leaders, allowed girls to substitute a word more applicable to their belief for the word “God” in the Girl Scout Promise, and allegedly banned prayer at meetings.
