Ronda Rousey Goes Schizophrenic in Support of Bernie Sanders

Ronda Rousey is a popular woman’s sports figure. As a result, what she says makes the news. Her latest comments are a foray into politics. She’s come out in support of Socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Here’s what she said as reported by Maxim:

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” Rousey told Maxim. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

As for what she’d do if her man were to lose the primary, Rousey said, “If he doesn’t win against Hillary, then I’ll probably vote for a third party again. To be honest, in 2012 I was against both candidates and so I just picked any third party because I thought if more people voted for third parties then they’d have to take third parties seriously.”

In fact, Rousey says she was so disenchanted with the two-party system that she voted for comedian Roseanne Barr’s third-party bid in 2012.

“I voted for Roseanne last time,” Rousey said. “Mostly I went in to vote for all the state and local things. I was so unimpressed with the whole presidential campaign that I picked whatever third party I saw, and I saw Roseanne and thought, ‘That’s awesome.’ But I’m really pulling for Sanders this time. I hope it works out.” (H/T: USA Today)

Rousey might know how to smack down an opponent in the ring, but she doesn’t know much about Bernie Sanders since during a news conference in Australia she “was asked by a reporter . . . about her thoughts on the gender pay gap in sports,” in this case, women’s soccer in Australia.

Here’s what she said:

“I think that how much you get paid should have something to do with how much money you bring in. I’m the highest paid fighter not because Dana and Lorenzo wanted to do something nice for the ladies — they do it because I bring in the highest numbers.”

“They do it because I make them the most money, and I think what they make should be proportionate to the money they bring in.” (H/T: Daily Caller)

Her “equal pay” comments are antithetical to what Bernie Sanders believes. He would say to that Rousey can bring in more money than a lesser known fighter, but she’s going to be taxed more.

In the end, according to Sanders, Rousey is going to be paid as much as the lesser fighter.

If Sanders becomes President, I can assure Ronda Rousey that it won’t work out for her because she may make a lot of money, but Bernie Sanders will take more of her money without ever getting in the ring with her. She’ll work hard while the government uses her money to buy more votes.
