Rick Perry Should Wear Indictment Charge as a Badge of Honor
There’s one thing you can say about Democrats – they never quit. They will use every tactic – moral or immoral, right or wrong, justified or not – to win.
When they couldn’t beat Gov. Scott Walker in an election, they attacked him in the streets and the capital building. When that didn’t work, they tried to defeat him in the courts:
“Prosecutors believe Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a potential 2016 Republican candidate for president, was at the center of a nationwide ‘criminal scheme’ to illegally coordinate fundraising with outside conservative groups, according to previously secret court documents. . . .”
The attack on Walker was to sully his reputation even though the governor did nothing wrong. Two judges reviewed the charges and dropped the case against him.
“‘The facts are pretty clear. You’ve had not one, but two judges – a state judge and a federal judge … have both looked at this argument in the past, not just recently, remember this is not new news it’s just newly released yesterday,’ Walker explained.”
Liberals did a similar thing to Tom DeLay.
They are doing the same to Gov. Rick Perry. They see him as a threat to their steam rolling of American politics so he has to be taken out.
Even liberals consider what the Austin liberals are doing to be a big mistake.
Perry’s doing the right thing. He’s going to use the indictment as a way to draw attention to the failed policies of the Democrats. That may be one of the reasons so many Democrats are stepping away from the indictment charge. They believe it’s going to harm the Democrats.
Here are some of Perry’s comments:
“I’m here today because I did the right thing. I’m going to enter this courthouse with my head held high, and not only were the actions that I took not only lawful and legal, but right. And if I had to do so, I would veto funding for the integrity unit again. You think any governor, Democrat or Republican, would expect this important unit with jurisdiction over state officials, be led by someone who lives up to the high standard of conduct and personal integrity.
“And this issue is far bigger than me. It is about the rule of law, about the constitution that allows not just a governor but every citizen to speak their mind free of political interference or legal intimidation.
“This indictment is nothing but an attack on the constitutional powers of the governor. There are important fundamental issues at stake, and I will not allow this attack on our system of government to stand. I’m going to fight this injustice with every fiber of my being, and we will prevail. And we’ll prevail because we’re standing for the rule of law.”
Perry’s indictment is really about Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg’s DWI arrest last year. Lehmberg is known for pursuing corruption charges against former U.S. House Majority Leader DeLay and other Republicans.
Perry wanted her removed because of her unethical behavior. A Republican would have been forced to resign on the spot. Here’s her extended drunken mug shot for all the world to see:
