The Bible is literature and needs to be interpreted in terms of its own standards. In fact, the word “literal” means “according to the literature.” What type of literature is being used? Modern-day prophecy writers give ammunition to sites like Black Nonbelievers, Inc. because they manipulate the plain meaning of the text in order to support their speculative failed end-time prophetic views.

We don’t live under a king or a Caesar. Our governing document is the Constitution. We have the freedom to vote civil officials out of office. We can petition the government for a redress of grievances. The Ninth and Tenth Amendments limit the national government.

The fact that pastors have the freedom to worship, preach, publish, assemble, and petition the government for a redress of grievances (the First Amendment to the Constitution) is because Christians addressed “political and social structures.”

The reasons Christians should be involved in politics is to lessen the impact that civil government has on so many areas of life. You can’t do that without getting involved in politics. While many Christians don’t believe in being involved in politics, politics is always involved in them.

There’s a great deal of sloppy thinking going on about human sexuality. Many Christians have capitulated on the topic of same-sex sexuality.
