NY Governor Losing Support over Guns but It’s Not Enough

It’s too bad that more people aren’t upset about the direction our nation is headed. They’re indifferent to politics until something that really irks comes along, and by then it’s often too late. They stay home on election days by arguing that there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the two major political parties. On many things, yes, but not on everything.

The reason there’s so little difference between the two is because not enough voters help the different ones get elected, so we’re stuck with RINOs and a gaggle of gimpy politicians who care more about how they’ll be portrayed in the press and at cocktail parties than before God and the voters.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo pushed through a homosexual marriage law with not much vocal opposition. “How does homosexual marriage affect me?” is how some rationalize their indifference. Of course, it may affect their children and the business they operate or work for and the church they attend.

Cuomo knew that a majority of voters are comatose on most issues. So he took another political leap and got a sweeping anti-Second Amendment law passed.

Now we’re hearing that the governor’s approval rating is down. Well, the horses have left the barn:

“After ramming through arguably the country’s toughest gun control law after the Sandy Hook massacre, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) approval rating dropped 15 percentage points.

“A Quinnipiac poll last month found 74% of New Yorkers approved of Cuomo while only 13% disapproved. On Wednesday, the same poll found 59% New Yorkers now approve of his performance while 28% do not. The December poll was conducted two days before the Sandy Hook massacre.”

Where were these people when they elected the less than gravitas son of the great liberal former governor Mario Cuomo? They have the same genetic makeup. Their hearts gush bleeding-heart blue.

Even with this downward poll trend, the immoral governor (has a live-in girl friend, supports abortion on demand, and defends homosexual marriage) still has a 60% approval rating.

We don’t have a political problem; we have a moral problem. There’s no other way to say it. There are a lot of good people in New York, but by the nearly 60% approval rating of Gov. Cuomo, the corruption runs deep.

In a word, the people get what they vote for. A politician is a reflection of the people who put him in office. The majority of New York voters are little Cuomos. Let’s pray that their inherited disease does not spread and we get squeezed by both coasts.
