Millions of Young People Who Voted for Obama Living with Parents

Beware what you wish for. Young voters were ecstatic when Barack Obama came on the political scene. He was vetted by the media as a political messiah that would united the world with his soothing words, erase all racial conflict, and bring peace where peace was once unattainable.

Their hopes and dreams are turning to dust as millions of young people are moving back home to live with their parents because they can’t find good jobs. Hope and change has turned into “not much has changed since I’m back home living with my mom and dad.”

Consider this new report:

“A record number of young adults are living with their parents.

A new study from Pew Research finds that 36 percent of Millennials – young adults ages 18 to 31 – are living at their parents’ homes, the highest number in four decades. A record 21.6 million young adults were still living at home last year.

“‘Most of my friends that have graduated end up living back home because even if they have a job they can’t afford to pay rent and pay back their loans at the same time,’ Stephanie Levonne, a 20-year-old college student living at home, told CBS News. ‘I know a lot of people that took out almost half or more of their tuition in loans which is $50,000 so it’s impossible to pay rent and live in New York City while paying off your loan.’”

Most of the jobs being created today are part-time. When the Obama “free” healthcare law kicks in, there will be even more unemployment and a rise in part-time employment for those who have jobs.

“Customers in the key swing state can expect to pay 41 percent more on average for individual health insurance coverage next year because of Obamacare, according to projections released by [Ohio’s] Republican insurance commissioner.”

Projections for my home state of Georgia are mindboggling:

“Georgia insurance commissioner Ralph T. Hudgens warns that, because of Obamacare, ‘Georgia insurance companies are demanding massive rate increases up to 198 percent for some individuals.’”

In addition to failed messianic hopes at him, the Muslim world is casting off Obama as the great unifier. A most recent report states that al Qaeda is once again on the march, and this after it was believed a president Obama would bring healing to the Muslim world. Muslims around the world are burning him in effigy.

But these are distant troubles that have little effect on young people who are struggling to find jobs, pay off college debt, and purchase a house – maybe.

President Obama, like so many liberals, believes that passing laws and giving pretty speeches can make the world right. It doesn’t work that way.

As Jean-Paul Sarte said in No Exit, “Hell is other people.” People are the problem, and you can’t fix people by passing laws that violate other fixed laws.

Hell is government trying fix what it has no business trying to fix.
