Liberal: Global Warming is More of a Crisis than ISIS

First of all, there is no such thing as global warming unless you’re talking about the sun warming the planet every day. Yes, there is climate change. Ever since we’ve had a climate, there has been climate change. The climate changes every day, and sometimes it changes in the same day.

This retooled adage by Ronald Reagan fits here: “Government’s view of the environment could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it changes, tax it. If it keeps changing, regulate it. And if it stops changing, keep saying it’s still changing.”1

Second, when Al Gore decided to make money after politics, he latched on to the global warming narrative. When global temperatures were trending downward (by very small amounts in both directions mostly because measuring devices are more sensitive and a whole lot of fudging was going on), the new narrative is to call it climate change. For example:

“Words are everything, even in the global warming debate. TV personality Bill Nye the “Science Guy” told MSNBC’s Joy Reid to use the phrase climate change, not global warming, when it’s so cold out.”

Third, crisis politics is all about (1) power, (2) control, and (3) money. Even so-called objective scientists are in on the game. Don’t ever think that the academic world is above politics and money. Universities live off of grant money. If there is no global warming or man-made climate change, then the money will stop flowing to the departments that research the topic. Call me a cynic all you want, but it’s the first law of nature: self-preservation.

So with ISIS beheading, burning, and threatening to take over the world with its eyes on Rome, MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes is concerned about global warming that is being debunked nearly every day:

“According to MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes, global warming apparently trumps terror concerns such as ISIS. While much of the country is covered with snow and facing brutal cold, Hayes appeared on the February 17 edition of Last Call to warn: ‘The single most important thing we face globally is the fact that we are heating the planet to a level that is never before been tried, while also trying to have human civilization.’

“Talking to host Carson Daly on the program that airs at 1:30 in the morning, Hayes predicted, ‘100 years from now, people will look back and be like, “How did they talk about anything else, ever?” Like, didn’t they understand they were sitting tied to train tracks with a train coming?”

So when soldiers for Allah start their march to Rome, the Italians should explain to them that Chris Hayes, an important American talking head, says global warming is more of a threat.

The Italians could also play this 35-second video clip of Hayes with Arabic subtitles. I’m sure it will stop the radical Muslims in their tracks and send them back home to work on climate change solutions:

  1. Taken from: “Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” []
