Lady Gaga Has More Principles than the Republican National Committee
The people running the Republican Party are idiots for going gaga over Lady Gaga. That’s why I have been trying to get people involved in taking over the party leadership. People this stupid should be easy to replace.
It seems that Pete Meachum, who serves as the chief of staff for Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), wanted Lady Gaga to perform on the first evening of the 2012 Republican National Convention. She turned down the invitation. The Washington Examiner reports:
“Not even a million dollars could convince Lady Gaga to perform during last summer’s Republican National Convention.”
For all her wacky views, she has more principles than these nutball Republicans. She stuck to her very liberal principles. These Republicans have no principles. I’m not sure what demographic they were hoping to secure with her often bizarre performances and radical social and political views.
Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) reminds of an extreme version of Madonna (Madonna Louise Ciccone), both of whom contribute to what Daniel Patrick Moynihan has described as “defining deviancy down.”
Lady Gaga’s moral and political views are as extreme as her musical style, costumes, and stage presence. She wore an entire wardrobe made of raw beef to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards:
“Gaga is an outspoken activist for LGBT rights worldwide. She attributes much of her early success as a mainstream artist to her gay fans and is considered a gay icon. . . . One of her first televised performances was in May 2008 at the NewNowNext Awards, an awards show aired by the LGBT television network Logo. In June of the same year, she performed at the San Francisco Pride event. After The Fame was released, she revealed that the song ‘Poker Face’ was about her bisexuality. . . .
“[The homosexual magazine] The Advocate commented that she had become ‘the real fierce advocate’ for gays and lesbians, one that Barack Obama had promised to be. Gaga appeared at Europride, a pan-European international event dedicated to LGBT pride, held in Rome in June 2011. She criticized the intolerant state of gay rights in many European countries and described homosexuals as ‘revolutionaries of love.’”
It’s no wonder that millions of Republican voters decided not to vote in the 2012 election. The GOP is directionless. Conservatives can’t adopt liberal values in hopes of attracting liberal voters. Why settle for liberal-lite when you can get the real stuff by voting for the Democrats.
