Kardashian Mom Calls Out Obama for Being a Wealth Hypocrite

President Obama did an interview last month where he attacked “Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for their lifestyle and what they represent to the youth of America.” Here’s some of what the president said:

“Were there things that all of us might have liked to have? Sure. But partly, I think, there also has been a shift in culture. We weren’t exposed to things we didn’t have in the same way kids these days are. There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”

The same day I read this article, I saw a link to a story that said that “Bo, the president’s Portuguese Water Dog, arrived separately [for a family vacation at Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts] on one of two MV-22 Ospreys, a hybrid aircraft which takes off like a helicopter but flies like a plane.” Actually, it’s not as bad as initial reports made it sound. Bo traveled with other personnel and equipment for the multi-million-dollar vacation.

In addition to the pet-traveling conspicuous consumption, “more than 70 hotel rooms, each costing up to $345 (£220) a night, have been booked out for Secret Service agents, who took charge of luggage including two large mesh bags full of basketballs.”

The president and his family will be staying at a $7.6 million, 5,000-square foot retreat on nine acres which is owned by a businessman friend from Chicago. It includes a basketball court.

Now go back and read what the president said about the Kardashians. At least the Kardashians are doing their consuming with their own money and are employing hundreds of people with their own money.

Here’s what Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, had to say about the hypocrisy:

“And the other thing I thought was, ‘Wow, I bet the president has some friends with 10,000-square-foot houses and you probably wouldn’t mind going over there, Mr. President, while you were asking them to have a party for you, when you were campaigning for, you know, dollars to run for president.’”

Obama has no problem taking money from multi-millionaires and billionaires. This reminds me of his “You didn’t build that” comment. As long as other people’s money is being used to grow the government, it’s OK to spend it. We can honestly say to all government officials, “You didn’t build that. We did since it was money you took from us.”

Noel Sheppard offers an accurate assessment of the president’s hypocrisy:

“In fact, Obama dined with mega-millionaire Jeffrey Katzenberg last Tuesday after he taped the Tonight Show. But the size of Katzenberg’s house or his wealth aren’t a problem for Obama because Katzenberg is one of his biggest contributors.”

Jenner wasn’t done with pointing out the hypocrisy:

“And I think, if I’m not mistaken, that Mr. President’s job affords him to live in a 55,000-square-foot house. So basically my house would fit in his entry.”

I’m not a Kardashian family fan, but I have to say, Kris Jenner is right on the money. I wonder if she and her family voted for Obama.
