My wife and I and our children bank with SunTrust. We’ve been with them for decades. My business accounts are also with SunTrust.

Then I read an article posted on the DailyCaller website that made by blood boil and just before I was to have a life screening battery of tests.

My wife was even more upset.

Here’s the story from the first Daily Caller article about David and Jason Benham who got booted from HGTV because of pressure from a left-wing pro-homosexual and anti-Christian group. The Benham brothers did not lash out. They believed in principle over money.

Soon after the old heave-ho, they got word from SunTrust Banks that their accounts would be closed:

“SunTrust Banks is cutting ties with would-be reality stars David and Jason Benham after liberal activists attacked them for their conservative views on abortion and gay marriage, The Daily Caller has learned.

“In a statement provided first to TheDC on Friday, the Benham brothers confirmed that SunTrust Banks has pulled all of its listed properties with the Benham brothers’ bank-owned property business, which includes several franchisees across four states.

“The move comes just a week after HGTV announced it was canceling a planned home renovation show hosted by the brothers.

“‘If our faith costs us our HGTV show and our business, then so be it,’ said Jason Benham on Friday.

“‘We were caught off-guard with this one,’ David Benham said of SunTrust’s actions. ‘Keeping us off television wasn’t enough, now this agenda to silence wants us out of the marketplace.’”

When my wife and I read the article, we were incensed. I promised that I would use every means at my disposal to get the word out that SunTrust could not be trusted with my money. I would have put the full force of this website and many more under my care to encourage people to pull out their money.

The Benham brothers were targeted for what they believe not for what they do. They never harmed anybody, and that includes homosexuals.

Don’t you think that SunTrust and other banks have accounts for all types of people with all types of viewpoints? You know they do.

My plan to go on the offensive was thwarted by an update to the story.

“By Friday afternoon, SunTrust released a statement saying the decision had been reversed. The bank didn’t go into detail about why they originally cut ties with the Benham brothers, though SunTrust said the decision was made by a third party vendor. TheDC reported earlier Friday that the vendor had told a Benham Brothers franchisee that the bank itself made the decision.

“‘We clarified our policies with our vendor and they have reinstated the listings with Benham Real Estate,’ SunTrust spokeswoman Beth McKenna said.”

Somebody with an agenda created a public relations nightmare for SunTrust. I told my wife that this decision most likely did not come from the top. I would like to know who actually made the decision to harass the Benham Broathers. I want a name and a statement from the person.

There’s a lesson here. For the longest time conservatives and Christians have been passive by always playing defense. Those on the left, especially homosexuals and racialists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (the Just-Us Brothers), have intimidated businesses to caving into their demands.

Maybe conservatives are getting the message. We also have money and influence. It’s time we use it. You can’t beat something with nothing.

SunTrust spokeswoman Beth McKenna said the following:

“SunTrust supports the rights of all Americans to fully exercise their freedoms granted under the Constitution, including those with respect to free speech and freedom of religion.”

What she really said was, “Money talks.” And she heard from a lot of people with money. There are more of us than there are of them. It’s time we let these people know it

It’s time for Christians and freedom-loving Americans to get in the game. Where are our banks and networks?

I’d be willing to use some of my money that’s getting less than 1% interest in the bank and invest in a well thought out business venture. I’m sure there are thousands of others who would join in.
