Is There a Connection between “Lone Wolf” terrorists and “Lone Wolf” IRS Agents?

We keep hearing about “lone wolf” terrorists. We heard the same thing about agents at the IRS working on their own against conservative groups. In both cases, the operatives were acting in terms of an ideology from what they heard from their ideological leaders.

In his speech the other day at the National Defense University, President Obama declared that the war against al Qaeda is nearly over.

“[T]he core of al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan is on a path to defeat,” he said. “Their remaining operatives spend more time thinking about their own safety than plotting against us. They did not direct the attacks in Benghazi or Boston. They have not carried out a successful attack on our homeland since 9/11.”

Has it occurred to President Obama that the strategy of Al Qaeda might have changed? Instead of large scale attacks, individuals are carrying out what only appear to be random acts of terrorism.

Army Maj. Nidal Hasan a Muslim, shouted “Allahu Akbar” — Arabic for “God is great” — before opening fire on 45 people at Fort Hood.

Richard Reid, tried to bring down a Paris-to-Miami flight with a bomb in his shoe.

There’s the Benghazi attack on 9/11 of last year.

Let’s not forget the Boston bombers.

Europe has seen its share of al Qaeda-like attacks. London was hit by a militant attack in 2005 when four Islamists set off suicide bombs on the public transport network that killed 52 people and wounded a hundred more.

The most recent is the hacking-death of an unarmed 25-year-old British soldier in broad daylight by the “Butcher of Woolrich.” Remember what Adebolajo said: “You people will never be safe.”

While these “lone wolf” terrorists may have had no direct contact with al Qaeda, they have been radicalized by Islamic “preachers” and militant Web sites that encourage their followers to attack Western targets anyway they can in order to instill terror. They are told that their murderous deeds are in accordance with “Islamic law.”

Stockholm is being hit with attacks by an immigrant population that refuses to assimilate.

“Youth gang riots in the Swedish capital Stockholm have entered fifth straight night. Hundreds of mostly immigrant teenagers tore through the suburbs, smashing windows and burning cars in the country’s worst outbreak of violence in years.”

Given time, they will drive out the Swedes through fear and intimidation.

The tactic is not much different from what President Obama is doing and liberals have been doing for a long time. Obama gives speeches condemning the actions of so-called far right groups and his surrogates carry out reprisals for the good of the liberal movement. No one is blown up, but their lives are disrupted and fear and immobilization are the result. Joel B. Pollak makes the point well:

“The important point is that the Obama administration’s behavior in the Benghazi scandal (intimidating whistleblowers), the IRS scandal (targeting conservative nonprofits and donors), and the AP and Rosen scandals (hounding individual journalists and news agencies) is a feature of Obama’s character and leadership, not a bug. He may know well enough to keep himself at arm’s length, to retain the façade of ‘plausible deniability.’ But the pattern of behavior is becoming undeniable, as is Obama’s ultimate responsibility.”

The fascistic actions of the IRS are a case in point. Long-term bureaucrats who have a stake in the continuation of the growth of the State implement tax-terror on the opposition.
