Hillary Clinton Says She’s Not Really “Well Off” Financially
The Clintons are worth $100 million. Of course, Hillary argues that she’s not like all the other rich people in the world because people “don’t see me as part of the problem, because we pay ordinary income tax, unlike a lot of people who are truly well off, not to name names; and we’ve done it through dint of hard work.”
Because she and Bill pay taxes, she is not truly well off? Then what is she? Well off means having enough money that you don’t ever have to worry about income. At $100 million dollars, the Clintons don’t have to worry about money . . . ever.
I suspect that she does not carry cash with her because everywhere she goes someone else picks up the tab. Do you think she flies coach? In most cases, I bet she travels by private jet. This article says she and Bill do, often at other people’s expense.
Do you want to bet that she doesn’t take a taxi? Private limousines are more her style.
I don’t begrudge anyone from making money or spending it. What I detest is someone as rich as Hillary Clinton trying to pass herself off as someone who understands the plight of the poor and the struggling middle class. Please, don’t try to poor mouth me.
Even the liberal media outlets aren’t buying her line:
“We understand what that struggles I, because we had student debts, both of us, we had to pay off,” Clinton told ABC’s Robin Roberts. “I had a couple of jobs in law school. He had a lot of jobs. We have a life experiences that’s clearly different in very dramatic ways from many Americans, but also we have gone through some of the same challenges as many people have.”
Like turning a $1000 investment into a $100,000 windfall. That must have been some challenge.
Clinton’s spokesperson Nick Merrill made things worse with these comments:
“Whoever thinks she has lost touch is clearly not in touch with her or her long-held beliefs. If they were, they’d know that reducing inequality and increasing upward mobility has been an uninterrupted pursuit of hers through every job she’s held and continues to this day in her work at the Clinton Foundation.”
Democrats are all about “income equality.” Every person with a lot of money can made the same claims Hillary makes. Many of them started with nothing and built empires. The Left thinks their wealth, when compared to the poor, is inequitable, and something should be done about it by government.
Hillary sounds like the “rich Republicans” she and her fellow Democrats condemn with their vile political rhetoric. Hillary needs to follow what President Obama said:
“You didn’t build that,” so by extension, the money really isn’t yours, therefore, it’s imperative that the government take a disproportionate amount of your money and give it to people who are in need.
Do the Clintons really need $100 million? Those on the Left say they do not if the Clintons were on the Right. Only conservatives get scorched for making a lot of money because their intentions aren’t pure.
Of course, we know it’s all talk. It’s political theater to get votes. Contrary to how Democrat politicians try to portray themselves and their party, they are just as rich as the richest Republicans.
