Have you noticed how Global Warming has become Climate Change? Climate Change is easier to sell than Global Warming especially when it’s still snowing in May.

Since the climate changes every day, even hour-by-hour, former global warmists can point to the fluctuations as scientific evidence that we’re doomed unless we pay more taxes, shut down the coal industry, put up wind mills, fund more research, and implement more laws to save everybody.

New research by David C. Barker of the University of Pittsburgh and David H. Bearce of the University of Colorado claim to have “uncovered that belief in the biblical end-times was a motivating factor behind resistance to curbing climate change.”

“[T]he fact that such an overwhelming percentage of Republican citizens profess a belief in the Second Coming (76 percent in 2006, according to our sample) suggests that governmental attempts to curb greenhouse emissions would encounter stiff resistance even if every Democrat in the country wanted to curb them,” Barker and Bearce wrote in their study, which will be published in the June issue of Political Science Quarterly.

 Here we go again.  Christians are being put on the chopping block. Will their “resistance” meet with government resistance?

We’re seeing attacks by groups to curb Christian witnessing in the military. Mikey Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation wrote the following in the Huffington Post:

“Today, we face incredibly well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation’s armed forces.”

 Weinstein put an end to an Air Force Christmas toy drive for needy children because it was sponsored by Operation Christmas Child headed by Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian organization — take a deep breath now — that helps needy people around the world. Weinstein also called for the court martial of Major General Douglas Carver, the Army chief of chaplains, for allegedly endorsing an effort to make Bibles available in Arabic.

Weinstien claims that Christianity is the “mirror image of the type of Islam that is pushed by al-Qaida and the Taliban.”

Let’s see. Toys or bombs? Yep . . . a real mirror image.

How will the above Climate Change study be used by our government? That’s the real question.

“Though the two researchers cautioned their study was not intended to predict future policy outcomes, they said their study suggested it was unlikely the United States would take action on climate change while so many Americans, particularly Republicans, believed in the coming end-times.”

So what’s “unlikely” the government could make it likely? There are scientists who have said that refusal to believe in man-made global warming is similar to the denial of Hitler’s planned extermination of the Jews and even the holocaust itself

Micha Tomkiewicz, a professor at Brooklyn College and the author of Climate Change: The End of Now, has equated opponents of global warming “science” with people who voted for Hitler even though they knew what he had planned for the Jews:

“[Tomkiewicz ] believes that the evidence for climate change is as obvious as the evidence that Hitler planned genocide and war. ‘Although there was evidence available – Hitler was clear about what he wanted to do in Mein Kampf – why did people not pay attention?’ he asks, rhetorically.  ‘These “deniers” might as well have been called skeptics in their day.’ . . . [W]e are talking about the potential genocide of billions of people. “

We know what happens to “holocaust deniers.” Will the same fate befall global warming deniers no matter what their reason for the denial, even if there is sound science behind the denial?
