The New Black Panther Party is offering a $10,000 bounty for a citizen’s arrest of George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is accused of murdering Trayvon Martin. There have also been death threats against Zimmerman and his family. This is not free speech even though it’s being treated that way.

The so-called New Black Panther Party has “called for the mobilization of 10,000 black men to capture Zimmerman.” This is not free speech even though it’s being treated that way.

As far as I can tell, not a single liberal commentator or even President Obama has denounced these obvious examples of “vigilante justice” in the racially charged case. Are these just examples of “freedom of speech”?

If you remember, it was President Obama who made the Martin-Zimmerman case a national issue. He told an audience that “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” Maybe when Trayvon was 12-years-old. And I doubt that the President would have said such a thing now that we know the following about Trayvon:

• He was suspended from school three times
• He was on suspension when he was shot in February 2012 after officials caught him with a “marijuana pipe” and a baggie with drug residue
• He was suspended from school in October 2011 for graffiti after he was allegedly caught with a “burglary tool” and a bag full of women’s jewelry
• He was also suspended for skipping school and being tardy

If these background tidbits are reported, then you are engaged in a smear campaign and not freedom of speech.” It’s OK to speak about a $10,000 bounty on George Zimmerman, but don’t talk about the latest news about Trayvon Martin.

Nothing in Trayvon Martin’s past is justification for shooting him. The point here is that there’s a double standard when it comes to free speech. Liberals are free to say anything they want no matter how outrageous.

It was Obama campaign Manager David Axelrod who said he doesn’t excuse Bill Maher’s “tw-t” and “c-nt” attacks against Sarah Palin and Rep. Michele Bachmann. But he doesn’t condemn Maher either because politicians (unless they’re liberals) are public figures in a way that Georgetown University Law student Sandra Fluke — whom Limbaugh called a “slut” and “prostitute” — is not.

You may recall how a United States map showing crosshair icons targeting 20 Democrat House districts was used to blame Sarah Palin for the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. One liberal blogger said that the map showed that Giffords was on Palin’s “hit list.” A New York Daily News reporter claimed that Palin had Gabrielle Giffords’ blood on her hands. Here’s what he wrote:

But anyone with any sense at all knows that violent language can incite actual violence, that metaphor can incite murder. At the very least, Palin added to a climate of violence.

I don’t recall if he has written something similar about the $10,000 bounty put on the head of George Zimmerman by the New Black Panther Party.

Try using your free speech rights in a government school if you are a Christian or a Jews. How many times have conservatives been run off the stage or shouted down at a university after being invited to speak by some conservative group? One person’s “freedom of speech” is another person’s “hate speech.”
