We could save a lot of money and political angst by just appointing judges to make laws for us. We’re already at that point that our lives have been turned over to five unelected people sitting on the Supreme Court. “Let it be written . . . Let it be done.”

The latest judicial scandal is a Federal Judge who has by judicial fiat declared that any prohibition against homosexual marriage is “irrational” as well as illegal and unconstitutional. We’re back to the 1973 pro-abortion decision finding a legal right for a woman to kill her unborn child based on a shadow right.

U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby stated the following in his 53-page decision:

“The state’s current laws deny its gay and lesbian citizens their fundamental right to marry and, in so doing, demean the dignity of these same-sex couples for no rational reason. Accordingly, the court finds that these laws are unconstitutional.”

No. So-called gay marriage is what’s irrational. Phil Robertson explained it very clearly, so clearly in fact that it nearly resulted in some exploded heads. “How dare this redneck expose homosexuality for what it really is. Who does he think he is?”

So who do you think has a greater grip on reality, Judge Shelby, who described opposition to homosexual marriage as “irrational,” or Robertson who explained why it is in fact irrational?

By the way, there is no such designation as “gay and lesbian citizens.” There are citizens. Some are male and some are female.

One person’s rationality is another person’s irrationality. What standard is being used for a determination of what’s moral? No standard exists.

Let’s put the rationality of homosexuality to the test. Liberals are all about science. So let’s research homosexual and heterosexual couples since the Stonewall riots of 1969 to see which couples reproduced.

No adoptions. No surrogates. No sperm donations.  It’s so simple that even a redneck could figure it out. Homosexuality is irrational. It’s irrational everywhere except among humans.

The people of Utah voted to ban homosexual marriage in their state. No matter. A single judge has more wisdom than the people of Utah.

A similar think happened in California with Proposition 8. The people voted to oppose homosexual marriage in their state and a single judge – a homosexual – declared the law null and void.

By the way, we need to stop describing marriage between a man and a woman as “traditional marriage.” Traditions, like laws, can be broken and new ones established. Marriage is God-ordained. If it’s not, then any marriage is legal. Brother sister. Mother son. Father daughter. If you can name it, you can marry it.

Judges today are freewheeling. They no longer have a basis for moral standards. They’re opening a Pandora’s Box they won’t be able to shut. Conservatives issued a warning on what would happen once same-sex sex was sanctioned by the courts. Daniel Greenfield writes:

“This makes the legalization of polygamy, group marriage and pedophilia inevitable since all such laws banning them deny ‘equal status’ to such ‘alternative lifestyles.’”

Former Penn State coach and convicted sex offender Jerry Sandusky may have grounds for a retrial. He was only doing what was rational for him even though the boys he did it with thought it was irrational. Judge Shelby has declared that the “irrational” views of millions of people on the nature of sexuality should not invalidate the acceptance of certain sexual practices.
