Bomb Them with Bibles
There are three things that Muslim nations fear more than anything else: (1) Any attack on the Koran, (2) the presence of the Bible in the hands of the common people, and (3) the proclamation of the Gospel. Here’s an example from Iran:
Iranian authorities began to systematically seize and destroy Bibles after a Shiite cleric issued an urgent warning about the spread of Christianity. Authorities in northwestern Iran seized 6,500 Bibles, according to the Iranian Christian news organization Mohabat News, which quotes an official as saying of the seizure that “all religions are strengthening their power to confront Islam; otherwise, what does this huge number of Bibles mean?” The agency has reported several other recent incidents of Bibles and other Christian literature being seized and sometimes publicly burned.
They’re afraid of the Bible’s message more than they are of bullets and bombs so let’s give them more Bibles. The same fear was expressed by religious leaders when John Wycliffe and William Tyndale wanted to translate the Bible in English for the common people. In addition to having a significant effect on millions of Muslims, it will be cheaper.
It’s time we took a different approach to Muslim nations. Troops, bombs, and bullets are not winning the day. We won’t use nuclear weapons or incendiary devices like was done in Dresden, Germany, in four raids in February of 1945.
The long term goal should be to change these Muslim nations into Christian nations. This can’t be done by force. Only a willing heart can embrace the things of Jesus Christ and transform people from the inside out.
How can this be accomplished? By sending copies of the Bible and well developed gospel tracts and dropping them all over the Middle East, including Israel. Simple gospel tracts could be developed to show how the Bible differs from Islam and how Jesus is the true savior. Picture books should be made for people who can’t read.
Not all Muslims are radical bomb throwing cutthroats. The women especially would benefit from this approach. Show them how Jesus treated women. Show them that in Jesus, they can call God their Father.
Would the radical Muslims go insane? Yes! In time, the gospel message will have its effect, especially on the youth if these tracts can show how the Bible applies to all of life. One more thing needs to be added. We in America are just as upset with the direction of our nation as they are. We deplore the moral degeneracy and outright hatred of things holy and good. This could be our common ground.
